MALTBY MAIN were looking to put their recent home loss to Thackley behind them when they entertained league leaders Liversedge on Saturday.
Main made just two changes, youngsters Danny Heald and Nicky Hancock making their debuts.
Heald also deputised in goal for the suspended Dave Hattersley.
Main set about the top of the table side from the off when Danny Patterson raced down the wing and curled in a cross which was almost converted by Matt Wragg.
Then 'Sedge skipper Daryll Leach was forced to block Scott McDonald's shot from the edge of the area following John Wragg's run and cross in the 10th minute.
The visitors' first chance came in the 13th minute when Chris Hanney fired wide of the goal from long range.
In the 20th minute Scott Somerville flashed a volley inches wide of the goal.
Heald was then forced to make his first save when he caught Andy Shuttleworth's cross following Luke Caulfield's quick free-kick. He then pulled off a world class save in the 31st minute when he tipped Luke Sherman's powerful strike over the bar.
In the 35th minute, Ashforth was forced to put the ball out for a corner following Somerville's strike. From the resulting corner Paterson curled the ball in and Ashforth caught the ball while under pressure from John Beggs.
Two minutes later Shuttleworth fired in a low free-kick which Heald saved well.
The visitors took the lead in the 49th minute when Sherman lifted the ball over Heald following Cauldfield's long ball forward.
Jon Wragg then played the ball to brother Matt, who layed the ball off for Baker, but his shot went over the bar.
Main equallised in the 78th minute when Beggs volled superbly into the top corner following Somerville's chip to the back post.
The strike will be a contender for Goal of the Season.
Main were unlucky not to have taken the lead in the 81st minute when Ashforth just managed to keep out Patterson's low strike.
A minute from time Hickey was a fraction away from giving Main all three points when he lobbed Ashforth, but his strike hit the bar and bounced the wrong side of the goal line.
Main entertain Arnold Town at home at Muglet Lane on Saturday 13th (Kick-off 3pm.)
