A PENSIONER suffered a heart attack behind the wheel just minutes after a row over a Maltby car parking space.
James Haystead, 69, and his wife had a 'minor disagreement' with a young couple in the Somerfield car park off the High Street on Friday.
Ten minutes later, they drove out of the car park and turned left towards Grange Lane but Mr Haystead suffered a heart attack and lost control of his grey Vauxhall Merida.
The car struck a lampost and rolled back onto High Street coming to rest outside a charity shop.
Police officers investigating the smash at about 11am on Friday want to hear from witnesses to the 'minor disagreement'.
Mr Haystead was taken to Rotherham Hospital where he remains in a 'very poorly condition'.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Pc Paul Lidster at Maltby Police Station on 01709 832615 or 832684.
