AS well as reading monthly updates about Kerry's progress in the Guardian, she will also be keeping a weekly diary on our website.
Below are her thoughts from Week One, and further updates will be added on a weekly basis.

"My first thought after going to slimming class was 'Wow! I can't believe how much food I can actually consume on this eating plan. This can't be a diet!'"

"Once I had got my head round the green and red days, the rest just fell into place. I'm allowed 10 'Syns' a day, which is a measurement of how much of my favourite food I'm allowed without feeling guilty. I was stuggling to fit in any at first, but it's nice to have the option of having a bag of Galaxy Minstrels a day though!"

"I even popped my head in the gym to introduce myself. Hopefully they will start my exercise programme shortly."

"I made a point of taking myself for a short walk each lunchtime, to try and fit in a bit of extra exercise. My family are being so supportive, and encouraging me every step of the way."
